Job Summary

Ensures data integrity throughout the process of inputting, maintaining and reporting sensitive student data pertaining to enrollment, withdrawal, graduation data and dropout data for K-12. Keeps abreast of best practices in data quality management and maintains expertise in use of Microsoft Excel, SMS, EIS and Data Warehouse software. Provides excellent customer service to MNPS families, students, staff and community partners.

What you will do

  • Specializes in enrollment/withdrawal processes and procedures.
  • Assists MNPS families and staff with all enrollment related issues.
  • Registers and enrolls students new to MNPS, collects and reviews necessary paperwork, creates electronic record in SIS and paper cumulative file folder.
  • Processes student transfers within the district; collects and reviews required documents.
  • Requests student records and notifies schools of incoming students.
  • Processes student withdrawals from MNPS, collects proper documentation, notifies school of outgoing students.
  • Researches/investigates dropouts and communicates findings to appropriate cluster support team.
  • Creates, processes and maintains high school graduation cohort books; Provides extensive research on dropouts and non-graduates; Works with manager and schools in and out of MNPS to collect documentation required by the state, which helps improve the district’s graduation rate.
  • Processes Student ID Applications for Pre-K students and School Choice Student ID Applications; collects and reviews proper documentation; Processes Pre-K enrollments/withdrawals as determined by the Pre-K Office; Creates electronic record in SIS; Provides next steps to families regarding Pre-K school selections.
  • Processes enrollments/withdrawals for students accepted at an MNPS Alternative Learning Center.
  • Processes all Online Registration applications; reviews uploaded required documents.
  • Generates and reviews data reports for checking accuracy of fields in SMS relating to state reporting and graduation rate and communicates needs to appropriate school staff.
  • Corrects state errors related to enrollment and student demographic information and works with other TN counties for correction when necessary.
  • Determines eligibility for Zoned Option and the Hero Program; Determines when new families need to be referred to the EL Office for assessment.
  • Develops positive working relationships with school staffs and other departments, such as EL, HERO, School Options, Pre-K, Special Populations, Student Assignment and Federal Programs. Works closely with interpreters when assisting non-English speaking families.
