The Role
We’re seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with extensive cloud infrastructure and automation experience to join our platform engineering team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers billions of dollars in payment transactions. You’ll design robust CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure provisioning, implement observability solutions, and integrate cutting-edge AI technologies into our DevOps workflows.
This is an opportunity to work on mission-critical fintech infrastructure at scale, where reliability, security, and performance are paramount. You’ll have significant influence on our technical direction and play a key role in enabling our engineering teams to ship fast and safely.
Key Responsibilities
CI/CD Pipeline Management
- Design, build, and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines that enable rapid, reliable software delivery
- Implement continuous integration workflows that ensure code quality through automated testing, security scanning, and compliance checks
- Optimize deployment processes to reduce lead time and increase deployment frequency while maintaining stability
- Create self-service deployment tools that empower development teams to ship confidently
- Integrate AI-powered tools for intelligent test selection, automated code review, and deployment risk assessment
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Manage and provision Google Cloud Platform infrastructure using IaC tools
- Build reusable infrastructure modules that enable consistent, repeatable deployments across environments
- Implement infrastructure versioning and change management processes
- Automate disaster recovery and backup procedures to ensure business continuity
- Maintain infrastructure documentation and architectural diagrams
Automation
- Identify and automate manual processes across the SDLC to improve efficiency and reduce human error and integrate and utilize AI as appropriate
- Build automation tools and scripts for common operational tasks (deployments, scaling, backups, monitoring)
- Implement GitOps workflows for infrastructure and application management
- Leverage AI/ML tools to automate incident response, capacity planning, and performance optimization
Monitoring & Logging
- Implement and manage comprehensive monitoring solutions to track system performance, health, and availability
- Design and deploy centralized logging infrastructure for troubleshooting and audit compliance
- Create dashboards and alerts that provide actionable insights into system behavior
- Establish SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to measure and improve reliability
- Conduct post-incident reviews and implement corrective actions
- Utilize AI-powered anomaly detection and predictive monitoring for proactive issue resolution
Collaboration
- Work across development, operations, and security teams to foster a culture of shared responsibility
- Champion DevOps best practices and mentor team members on infrastructure and automation
- Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 system reliability
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with PCI-DSS and other regulatory requirements
- Partner with product and engineering teams to understand requirements and optimize infrastructure
Security (DevSecOps)
- Integrate security best practices into CI/CD pipelines
- Implement secrets management solutions and enforce least-privilege access controls
- Automate security compliance checks and vulnerability remediation
- Conduct security audits of infrastructure and deployments
- Ensure PCI-DSS compliance for payment processing infrastructure
- Implement zero-trust security models and network segmentation
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Platform Engineering experience
- Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including:
- Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
- Cloud Functions, Cloud Build, Artifact Registry
- Cloud SQL, Firestore, BigQuery
- VPC networking, Cloud Load Balancing
- IAM, Security Command Center
- Or equivalent experience with AWS or Azure
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools
- Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or CircleCI
- Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages for automation and tooling
- Deep expertise with Git and Git workflows including branching strategies and pull request automation
- Hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet is helpful but not required
- Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration and microservices deployments
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.
- Understanding of networking, security, and system architecture in cloud environments
- Experience with fintech or highly regulated industries (preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with ability to debug complex distributed systems
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
