The Basics:

  • Minimum of High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or 4 years of military leadership experience and/or 4 years of progressive leadership experience in a Steel Mill
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Steelmaking (Melting, Refining, Casting, Refractory)
  • Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel internationally

The Extras:

  • Advanced process control knowledge
  • Dayforce and/or SAP experience preferred

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Supervises and directs operations personnel on the specific duties to be accomplished each day
  • Enforces company policies using coaching and disciplinary recommendations
  • Works closely with Suppliers to diagnose problems
  • Works on continuous improvement of process
  • Manages personnel work schedules, attendance and timekeeping
  • Schedules and assigns required training for direct reports
  • Responsible for documentation and reporting of issues in refractory with root cause analysis and recommends solutions
  • Responsible for the safety, order, and cleanliness of area

  • Fulfill the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office and Industrial setting in the Steel Making facility
  • Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL
  • M-F Work Schedule–Possible Holiday and weekend hours to meet the needs or Refractory.
  • People with heart pacemakers or any other electronic medical device are strictly prohibited from entering the furnace area. These devices include implanted pacemakers or implantable cardiac defibrillators where the device may be affected. Individuals identified to potentially work in EMF affected areas should identify the specific device they have as part of a medical history and manufacturer’s recommendations should be followed.
