Summary:

Responsible for the AWS environment and managing the entire lifecycle of AWS data movement. This role is responsible for the configuration, administration, and security of the AWS Data Organization, Storage Classes, and Bridge Client Configurations running in EC2 instances. Responsible for implementing and maintaining security and compliance standards, operational maintenance, and uphold data governance and quality standards set forth by the bank.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a computer related discipline or proven professional experience.

Licenses/Certifications: AWS Cloud Engineer Associate required. Cloud Operations Engineer or similar considered. Dev Ops or Solutions Architect preferred.

Experience: Experience in AWS Management Console or AWS CLI (Command Line Interface). Experience with PGP data encryption within S3. Experience in other encryption methods beneficial. Intermediate knowledge of Python scripting. Technical IT experience in overall IT Support. Strong knowledge SFTP protocols and file movement. Understanding and management of SSL, TLS and certificates. Or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.

Essential Functions:

A: Job Specific:

  • Works within the AWS S3 system to create new file transfers as requested.
  • Designs, creates, and maintains S3 buckets, ensuring proper configuration of storage classes (e.g., S3 Standard, Glacier), versioning, and lifecycle policies to optimize for cost and performance.
  • Works within the GoAnywhere software to ensure efficiency in all file transfer projects with a focus on how GoAnywhere connects with S3.
  • Establishes a clear data lake structure with distinct prefixes/folders and a consistent naming convention.
  • Works with the GoAnywhere MFT software to establish critical alerting and monitoring.
  • Implements and manages S3 bucket policies, Access Control Lists (ACLs), and IAM policies to enforce least-privilege access and maintain a secure data environment.
  • Manages expiring encryption keys and credentials within the S3 Environment to match what is within the SFT Software that is managed on-premises.
  • Acts as a backup to help provide 24/7 support of critical files flows by responding to Alerting (on call).
  • Assists Payments Production/MFT Support staff as needed, monitoring daily file deliveries including monitoring, reporting, escalation and Partner outreach as necessary.
  • Assists in test environment data requirements setup and maintenance, testing and validation.
  • Responsible for setup and monitoring AWS systems including EC2 Instances, ECR, Farscape and the underlying images or code that support each within the AWS Environment, while also managing the roles and access needed for users and connecting software.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves any AWS-related access or performance issues to prevent issues downstream.
  • Works with Data Teams on any additional files issues that are uncovered.
  • Maintains up-to-date documentation on S3 bucket ownership, data flows, security configurations, and disaster recovery procedures.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of the Payments Industry and/or card processing.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the financial services industry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively, both independently and in team settings, to include close collaboration with Processors.
  • Familiar with work flows, building flows, and maintaining documentation to track flows and support audit processes.
  • Experience with large text files and editing tools.
  • Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services) & S3 (Simple Storage Service).
