SUMMARY
Our client is an Employer of Choice seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Network Engineer to join their infrastructure team. This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise network environments across multiple locations, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on networking expertise, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide operational support for enterprise network environments, including SD-WAN, LAN, and wireless infrastructure.
Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Cisco routing, switching, and wireless access point technologies.
Troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network performance issues and resolve incidents in a timely manner, escalating when necessary.
Serve as a point of escalation for service desk and remote IT support teams.
Collaborate with security teams to support and maintain firewall environments, including Cisco and Palo Alto platforms.
Assist with monitoring the performance of key technology vendors and take corrective action when performance falls outside expected norms.
Maintain and update network hardware configurations, firmware, and device models.
Support bulk configuration changes through scripting and automation tools.
Create and maintain clear, detailed network documentation, including network diagrams and knowledge base articles for both technical teams and end users.
Leverage AI tools to assist with troubleshooting, research, and scripting activities.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry advancements.
Provide after-hours support and travel to remote locations as required (less than 20%).
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on network engineering or network support experience.
Strong experience diagnosing and resolving wired and wireless connectivity issues.
Current Cisco certifications required.
Demonstrated experience with:
- Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls (configuration and troubleshooting)
- Dynamic routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP required)
- Cisco Wireless Access Points, bridges, and controllers
- Cisco SD-WAN and vManage
- Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama (plus)
- Automation and bulk management tools such as Ansible, Python, Cisco DNA Center / Catalyst Center
Experience with SolarWinds and ServiceNow platforms is a plus.
Proven ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation and procedures.
