Full job description
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrial, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Diagnose equipment failures and implement effective repair solutions to minimize downtime
- Conduct routine inspections and document maintenance activities
- Preform welding, cutting, fabrication, and fitting as required (MIG, Stick, oxy-fuel, plasma)
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Maintain motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, and drive systems
- Support installations, modification, and commissioning of new equipment
- Follow all safety, environmental, and lockout/tagout procedures
- Keep work areas clean and compliant with company and regulatory standards
- Communicate equipment status and maintenance needs with supervisors and operations staff
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred
- 2+ years of idustrial maintenance experience (recycling, manufactruing, steel, mining, or heavy idustry preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of industrial equipment
- Baisc electrical troubleshoothing experience (motors, controls, sensors)
- Welding and fabrication skills preferred
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Abitlit to work independently and as part of a team
Physical & Work Enviroment Requirments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces
- Ability to work outdoors and indoors in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and shifts as required
- Comfortable working around heavy machinery, noise, dust and metal materials
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience in metals recycling or scrap processing operations
- PLC trouble shooting experience
- Forklift, manlift, or crane operation experience
