JOB TITLE: Analyst, Technical Applications

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Analyst, Technical Applications, is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing Wineshipping’s core business applications and related data platforms. This role serves as a technical partner to Operations, Finance, Customer Success, and IT by translating business needs into system configurations, data models, reporting, and application-level solutions.
The position focuses on ensuring reliability, data integrity, and scalability of enterprise systems, with particular emphasis on ERP platforms, billing systems, and reporting tools.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Application Support
- Support, maintain, and improve business application systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Billing Platform
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, data, and integration issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Customer Success, and IT to understand system needs and deliver technical solutions
Data, Reporting, and Analytics
- Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries for reporting, troubleshooting, and data validation
- Create stakeholder dashboards and reporting views to improve visibility into supported applications
- Support business decision-making through effective use of reporting and analytics tools
Billing Platform and ERP Enablement
- Configure and support Billing Platform functionality, including product creation, usage logic, and feature enhancements
- Assist with architecture and development of new application features
- Partner with the Data team to automate system integrations and data flows
Data Integrity and Governance
- Create and maintain data integrity alerts and exception repositories
- Assist with validation of archived data
- Support application data definitions and data governance standards
Documentation and Communication
- Document technical configurations, workflows, and logic clearly and accurately
- Explain technical concepts and outcomes in clear, plain language to non-technical stakeholders
SKILLS TO DEMONSTRATE ON THE JOB

- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Knowledge of Supply Chain / Logistics, the flow of data, inventory and money
- Professional discretion and confidentiality
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
- Demonstrated professional experience writing and optimizing SQL queries
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and core business processes
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 strongly preferred
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS
- Ability to work from high-level or conceptual requirements and determine appropriate data outputs
Preferred but not required:
- Experience with Databricks AI/BI or similar platforms
- Exposure to billing systems or usage-based pricing models
- Experience with API integration tools like Postman
- Familiarity with data governance or data integrity controls
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Working across US time zones
- Prolonged periods of standing/walking/sitting
- Occasionally lift, carry and/or move up to 50lbs
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
- Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts
- Occasional loud noise
- Occasional varying environmental temperature changes
