Our client is looking for a Business Systems Analyst (ERP/iSeries) located in Metro Detroit (Metro-Detroit, MI)

SUMMARY

Our client is seeking a hands-on Business Systems Analyst to support and enhance their ERP environment within a manufacturing organization. Reporting to the Corporate Business Systems Manager, this role focuses on Infor XA support, iSeries administration, business process improvement, and ERP-driven projects across multiple departments.

The ideal candidate brings strong ERP experience, a practical understanding of iSeries systems, solid SQL skills, and a mindset geared toward continuous improvement rather than consulting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

ERP & System Support

  • Support and maintain the ERP environment, with a primary focus on Infor XA
  • Administer iSeries systems including user access, security, and system configuration
  • Assist with system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations
  • Build and maintain SQL-based reports and data extracts
  • Support interfaces such as EDI and other connected applications

Business Analysis & Process Improvement

  • Partner with business users to identify system gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Optimize ERP functionality across Finance, Purchasing, Engineering, and Manufacturing
  • Document requirements and translate them into system solutions
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform system testing to ensure stability

Projects & Collaboration

  • Support ERP-related initiatives including upgrades, migrations, and cloud projects
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver solutions
  • Develop basic project plans and provide status updates

User Support & Governance

  • Provide user support, training, and documentation
  • Maintain helpdesk tickets and meet defined service levels
  • Support data integrity, security standards, and audit requirements
  • Participate in after-hours or on-call support as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor s degree in IT, MIS, or a related field
  • 5+ years of ERP experience in a manufacturing environment (Infor XA preferred)
  • Experience supporting iSeries environments and executing CL commands
  • Strong SQL skills for reporting and analysis
  • Working knowledge of RPG concepts is a plus
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and working independently
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
