Full job description
Primary Function
Slot Technician is responsible for the servicing, installing, converting, upgrading, and preventative maintenance of all gaming equipment. The Slot Technician position is also responsible for cleaning, operating factory and warehouse equipment, assembling and inspecting products in a correct, cost-effective, and timely manner in alignment with specifications and quality requirements on an assembly line. Production/Service Technician will troubleshoot and fix improperly functioning slot machines via onsite service calls as well as assist customers and personnel with slot machine issues, which may include answering technical questions and moving equipment around. This position may be required to work after business hours, including evening/overnight weekends/holidays. Work shift location and times will be adjusted based on the installation schedule and production needs.
Essential Duties
- Provides technical training to casino operators’ technicians on most aspects of installations, repair, game conversions, and game software updates
- Maintaining or repairing equipment
- Strong working knowledge of company cabinet types and ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems from top to bottom
- Documents service calls and installation actions by completing forms, logs, and records
- Maintain customer confidence by keeping service information confidential
- Identify replacement parts along with the correct part numbers
- Maintain an accurate inventory of parts issued
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Follow documentation, policies, procedures, and both written and verbal instructions
- Able to work with warehouse staff, assisting with machine assembly when onsite service is not requested
- Work on the production line with consistent speed and accuracy
- Ensure that production requirements and standards are met consistently
- Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality
- Use power tools to assemble parts
- Observes and removes faulty product parts from the assembly line
- Install the software/firmware on the hardware devices
- Inspect parts and assemble products to ensure they are up to quality standards
- Use measuring tools to inspect parts
- Use measuring and testing equipment for final inspection (visual, functional, and electrical) on final products
- Reports issues or problems with production to the immediate supervisor
- Adheres to all safety guidelines dictation the production and handling of materials in the factory
- Maintain a positive image of Sega Sammy Creation with co-workers and customers
- Other duties when required
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must obtain licensing approval by the Nevada Gaming Control Board and/or other gaming jurisdictions in which we operate
- Must be available to work after business hours, including evening/overnight, weekends/holidays
- Must be able to travel in and out of state and work any schedule as needed
- Valid driver’s license with clean DMV driving record/ Working vehicle for service calls (mileage reimbursement provided)
- Has working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, hardware, and electronics, as well as experience with troubleshooting, analyzing information, building client relationships, and reporting skills
- Must be able to stand for the entire shift
- Mechanically inclined; comfortable working in confined spaces
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently, and 150 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, and reach
- Must have the manual dexterity required to write and operate a computer/slot machine
- Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues
- When on the casino floor, must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust
