Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Perioperative Nurse to join our surgical team in providing exceptional patient care throughout all phases of the perioperative process. The ideal candidate will possess experience in various surgical settings, including hospital, outpatient, and ambulatory surgery centers with strong understanding of sterile techniques, medical documentation, and patient assessment. The Perioperative Nurse will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered surgical experiences while adhering to all regulatory standards including HIPAA and infection control protocols.
Monday-Friday; Weekends off; Paid Holidays
Duties
- Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for procedures
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient condition preoperatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively using advanced EMR/EHR systems
- Document all patient care activities accurately in medical records in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding postoperative care plans including discharge planning for post-acute care
- Collaborate anesthesia and surgeons
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and maintain sterile processing standards throughout all procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience working in diverse clinical settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, or ambulatory surgery centers
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Hands-on experience with advanced nursing procedures such as IV insertion, phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing
- Strong IV skills
- Circulator Experience
- Pre-op, Intra-op and PACU
Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
