Full job description

We are seeking a full-time WordPress Web Developer to join our fast-paced marketing agency. In this role, you’ll work closely with graphic designers, copywriters, account managers, and the digital team to build and maintain engaging, high-performing websites for a variety of clients.

This role focuses on building and customizing WordPress marketing websites from creative designs and content assets. This is not a graphic design or heavy software engineering role.

The ideal candidate has strong WordPress experience, understands front-end website development, and is comfortable implementing responsive websites with light custom functionality when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain responsive WordPress websites based on provided designs, mockups, and content
  • Customize WordPress themes, templates, and page builders.
  • Implement interactive website features and custom page layouts
  • Ensure websites are mobile-friendly, user-friendly, and optimized for performance
  • Work closely with graphic designers and copywriters to bring approved creative concepts to life
  • Configure plugins, forms, and website functionality as needed
  • Troubleshoot website, plugin, and layout issues
  • Perform website updates, revisions, and ongoing maintenance
  • Apply best practices for responsive design, SEO, accessibility, and website performance
  • Manage staging environments and assist with website launches

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of professional WordPress website development experience
  • Experience building and customizing WordPress websites
  • Strong understanding of responsive website development and cross-browser compatibility
  • Ability to accurately implement provided designs and layouts
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Comfortable working within WordPress themes and page builders
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and front-end website customization
  • Ability to create interactive website features and custom layouts
  • Familiarity with WordPress plugins, responsive design, and basic troubleshooting
  • Basic knowledge of JavaScript or PHP is a plus.
  • Understanding of website performance optimization and SEO best practices
  • Experience with eCommerce websites
