Motion Graphics Designer

Circle City Broadcasting (CCB) is seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Motion Graphics Designer to join our Creative Services team in a Top 25 television market. This role is responsible for producing dynamic, visually compelling graphics and animations that elevate our newscasts, locally produced programming, promotions, digital platforms, and special projects.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings strong storytelling instincts, and has a passion for visual innovation that drives audience engagement.

Key Responsibilities

· Design and produce high-quality motion graphics for daily news, promotion, and station branding initiatives

· Create animations for on-air for news and locally produced television content including opens, teases, lower thirds, full screen, and explainer graphic

· Collaborate with producers, editors, and marketing teams to develop creative concepts that support editorial and promotional goals

· Maintain and evolve the station’s visual brand across broadcast, digital, and social platforms

· Collaborate with marketing and digital departments to create compelling high-performing digital advertising campaigns across web, mobile, social and streaming platforms

· Turn around projects quickly under tight deadlines without compromising quality

· Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas for campaigns and special projects

· Ensure all designs meet technical specifications for broadcast and digital distribution

· Stay current on industry trends, tools, and best practices in motion design and visual storytelling

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Motion Media, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of professional motion graphics experience, preferably in broadcast or media
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Experience with Cinema 4D, Blender, or other 3D software is a plus
  • Strong understanding of typography, color theory, composition, and branding
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to visual excellence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a newsroom or broadcast environment
  • Knowledge of Ross XPression, Vizrt, Chyron Prime and Newsticker or similar real-time graphics systems
  • Basic video editing and compositing skills
  • Understanding of social media formats and digital content strategies
